Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at NegoAI ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the NegoAI Chrome Extension.

1. Information We Collect

A. Personal Communications (Chat Context)

To provide our core functionality (generating negotiation responses), our extension reads the content of the currently active chat on supported platforms (like Leboncoin or Vinted). This data is NOT stored on our servers. It is only temporarily transmitted to our backend to communicate with the Large Language Model (LLM) to generate a response, and is immediately discarded after the response is generated.

B. User Activity & Analytics

We collect basic, anonymous usage data to understand how the extension is used and to improve our services. We do this by generating a random, anonymous UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) when you first install the extension. The data we track includes:

• When the extension is opened.
• Which type of proposal (aggressive, balanced, elegant) is selected.
• Your selected role (buyer or seller) and language preference.

We DO NOT collect your name, email address, IP address, or any personally identifiable information (PII).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To power the AI assistant: Processing chat context to generate relevant negotiation responses in real-time.
• To improve the extension: Analyzing anonymous usage patterns to see which features are most popular and to fix potential bugs.

3. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

We do not sell, rent, or trade any of your information to third parties. Your chat context is securely sent to our backend via encrypted channels (HTTPS) solely for the purpose of communicating with the AI model (Google Gemini) and is not retained.

4. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We only keep anonymous analytics data in our secure database (Cloudflare D1). We do not retain any chat history, messages, ad details, or personal communications. Once the AI response is delivered to your browser, the data in transit is forgotten.

5. Local Storage

The extension uses your browser's local storage (`chrome.storage.local`) to save your preferences (such as your preferred language, your default role, and your anonymous UUID). This data never leaves your device except for the anonymous UUID attached to analytics events.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible.
